(Olakha burglary Update) Laptops and mobile phones worth over Nu. 300,000 stolen from a shop in Olakha on Sunday have been recovered by police. Two people were involved in the burglary. One is under police custody while the other one is undergoing treatment at the National Referral Hospital in Thimphu.
The police recovered the lost items – five laptops and 10 mobile phones. One suspect is a class 12 student in Thimphu. The other is a former employee of a private firm. He is undergoing treatment at the hospital as he has suffered a cut on the hand while trying to break into the shop. The case is under investigation.
Meanwhile, a laptop stolen from the office of the Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan Limited has been recovered by the police. It was stolen in January this year when the officials were having a meeting. The suspect was arrested this month with help of CCTV cameras. The case is under investigation.
