Wangdue Phodrang District Court sentenced a 34-year-old man to 18 months in prison for the offence of attempt to rape a 41-year–old woman in Phobji Gewog in October last year.
The judgment passed on Tuesday also asked the convict to pay a compensation of about Nu 4,000 to the woman. The case was forwarded to the Wangdue Phodrang District Court last year in October.
