Trongsa Dzongkhag will soon have an Automated Teller Machines or ATMs to withdraw cash. The Bank of Bhutan is working on installing the machines in the town. The Dzongkhag currently does not have such facility.
A long queue of people is seen at the bank every day. The coming up of the Mangdechhu Hydropower Project and the Institute of Language and Cultural Studies has attributed to the problem.
The news is welcomed by everyone.
The machines will reduce the waiting time for its 6000 customers.The number is expected to increase with employees of the project settling in the town.
The Bank is also planning to create an extension counter to cater to its many customers. The Bhutan Financial Switch will enable customers from other banks to use the ATM services as well.
