5th India-Bhutan Friendship Tennis tournament ends

Vilasier Khate from India is the winner of the 5th India-Bhutan Friendship Tennis tournament in men’s category. In the finals played today, Khate defeated Ivanhoe from Nepal.

This is for the fourth time Khate has been winning the tournament. Also, Vilasier and Tshering Tobgay won the Lucky doubles’ category.

In women’s category, Shivika Burman from India bagged the first position defeating Sushila Rai from Bhutan in the finals played yesterday.

In the veterans’ category, Thongbam from India defeated Roshan Ghishing who is also from India.

There were four categories in the tournament. The winners and runners-up were awarded certificates and cash prizes.

75 participants from Bhutan, India and Nepal took part in the tournament. It is organised by Bhutan Tennis Federation supported by India-Bhutan Foundation.
