For the past three days, Pasakha has been cut off. Although clearing works are taking place continuously, the heavy downpour yesterday has worsened the situation at Bhaunijhora. The new bridge is submerged under soil and sediments.

Hundreds of trucks are stranded at both sides.

The Thrompon, Dungpa, Pasakha RBP OC and Desuups are monitoring the sites and rendering continuous support to the people.

The Medical gas (oxygen) supply trucks to Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referal Hospital are also stranded because of the block. According to the suppliers at Pasakha, the medical gas has to reach JDWNRH by tomorrow. Therefore they are working to clear the blocks today by any means.

However, the industrial estates are located at the other side of the Bhalujhora river so even if Bhaunijhora is cleared, officials are are concerned about driving across the Bhalujhora river. If it rains the river naturally swells up and heavy vehicles just can’t ply over.

Bhaunijhora is about a kilometre from Pasakha towards Phuentshogling.
