(Yangchenphu accident update) Two policemen who were critically injured in yesterday’s accident have been moved to the Intensive Care Unit of the national referral hospital last night. One has suffered brain injury and the other a lung injury. They were injured when the DCM truck they were travelling in went-off the road at Yangchenphu.
Including them, 23 policemen had gone to put off a fire that was raging above Yangchenphu last afternoon. Two policemen were killed on the spot. Of the 17 who have been admitted in the National Referral Hospital, 11 were discharged today. The remaining are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile,the fire has been brought under control. Forestry officials suspect the fire could have been started by smokers, as there is no human settlement in the area.
