His Holiness the Je Khenpo is presiding over a five-day Moenlam Chenmo in Gelephu beginning today. The ceremony is being conducted at the Dorjidhen Chorten construction site at Phularri, five kilometres away from Gelephu town.

Hundreds of devotes from Gelephu, Sarpang and as far as Tsirang and Zhemgang are attending the Meolam Chenmo. Monks and nuns from nearby Drasha and Gomdheys are also attending the ceremony.

Our reporter in Gelephu, Pema Samdrup, said the recitation of Neten Chudruk and Thrinched ceremonies are also being carried out by the monks.  The Moenlam Chenmo is being performed for the well-being of the King, Country and the people.

Gelephu Meolam Chenmo is an annual event initially started in 2004.
