A book on Guru Rinpoche titled “Padmasambhava of Uddiyana- Odisha” in English by Dr Bimalendu Mohanty has been translated into Dzongkha.
The Dzongkha version of the book was launched today at the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) in Thimphu.
A Research Officer with the Royal Research and Advisory Council of Bhutan, Kezang Wangdi, translated the book.
The translation was done as part of the celebrations to mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and India. The India-Bhutan Foundation financed the translation works.
The book was originally written in English and first published in 2012. The second edition of the book was published in 2017.
The book contains 12 scholarly articles written by scholars from Orissa and edited by Dr Bimalendu Mohanty.
A seminar on the origin of Guru Padmasambhava was held following the launch of the book.
