Three people died in a vehicle accident in Samdrup Jongkhar when the Maruti van they were travelling in veered some 20 meters off the road. The accident took place at about six kilometres away from Samdrup Jongkhar towards Trashigang on December 17.
However, the accident was discovered only at 5 pm the next day, when the families started looking for them. The 57-year-old man died along with a 26-year-old woman and her six-year-old daughter.
The woman and her daughter had hitched a ride from Dewathang.
Police and locals recovered the dead bodies and were handed over to their families.
About 11 people died in vehicle accidents in Samdrup Jongkhar this year.
