Lhuentse Higher Secondary School (LHSS) has consistently ranked in the top 10 schools in the country for the last five years. It was ranked second last year. This has attracted other schools to visit the LHSS to observe the successful methodologies.

Recently, a group of 25 teachers from the Tang Central School in Bumthang visited the school for an educational program.

During the visit, academics, non-academic activities, management and student support services are some of the issues discussed.

“We feel proud and privileged that other schools’ teachers are coming to visit us. This year alone, three schools came for a visit,” Dorji Nidup, the Principal of LHSS, said.

“My school has been working on three developmental philosophies based on 3 Bs to make it one of the best and beautiful schools in the country.  We are also planning to expand the school, make it bigger and focus on improving the quality of education.”

The teachers from Tang Central School said they came to observe the good practices in LHSS.

“The teaching and learning strategies are good in Lhuentse, we are taking note of the good practices, ”Nidup Gyaltshen, the Principal of Tang Central School, said.

“We tend to think our own practices are good. But the visit here made us realise that some practices are better than ours. Back in our school, we are going to present what we observed and plan accordingly for the next academic session,” Jigme Tshewang, a teacher from Tang Central School, said.

The school has been established some 14 years ago. At present, it has over 400 students with 50 staff.
