Team Junior FC lifted the winner’s trophy of this year’s Under (U) 18 Capital Futsal Tournament, beating team Juvenile FC.
The final match between the two teams was played at Nazhoen Pelri or YDF football ground in Thimphu yesterday.
It was a competitive match, where team Junior FC won by just one goal 5-4 against the Juvenile FC.
Like any other sports events in the country, this tournament was held to promote futsal in the country and also for youth engagement in meaningful way during summer breaks.
Futsal is a sport similar to football. However, it is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Also, unlike football, this sport allows unlimited substitutions.
