More than a year to open to traffic

The Nangar-Ura by-pass road in Bumthang will be opened to traffic by June next year. The by-pass road will shorten distance of about 32 kilometres from Chumey to Ura. So far 40 percent of the work has been complete. According to the project engineer, 6.5 of the 32 kilometres road from Nangar towards Ura has been blacktopped.The remaining 25.5 kilometres will be blacktopped by early next year.

Currently,construction of drainage along the roadside are being carried out and also making the soil compact.

A motor-able bridge connecting Nangar-Ura is also under construction. The construction of road began in 2005.
