Over hundred dzongkhag and gewog officials, and public in Chhukha are battling the forest fire in Chapchha Gewog, which is raging for the second day. The fire broke out above Damchu yesterday and has destroyed over 20 acres of forest cover.
According to the dzongkhag officials, it is difficult to contain the fire due to rugged terrain and strong winds. The cause of the blaze is not known as of now.
