Bhutan bags runners-up title in Open Golf Championship

Bhutan claimed the runners-up trophy in the finals of the Open Golf Championship, held in Thimphu yesterday.

Nepal took home the winner’s trophy. The four-day tournament saw over 70 golfers from Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Afghanistan.

The tournament was sponsored by Zimdra Industries Limited and Bhutan Olympic Committee.

Charo Nga, the winner of Mandichhozhi Compound Archery Tournament

Meanwhile, in Trongsa, team Charo Nga bagged the winner’s trophy in the finals of the Mangdichhozhi Compound Archery tournament played yesterday.

Archery events like this was organised for the first time in Trongsa and some 18 teams from all the five gewogs participated in the sport.

It was organised by a businessman living in Trongsa.

Students from three eastern districts participate in Karate Championship

Over 130 students from three eastern Dzongkhags participated in the first-ever Karate Championship held in Trashigang yesterday.

Garpaoong Middle Secondary school in Samdrup Jongkhar won the overall winner’s trophy. The event was organised showcase talents in Karate and select potential players for the Champions of the Champion scheduled to take place this winter.
