A major landslide has blocked the Bumthang-Monggar highway between Gayzamchhu and Khandrupang of Ura Gewog in Bumthang this afternoon.

Around 50 metres of the road stretch has been buried by falling boulders and landslide. The block site is about 65 kilometres from Chamkhar town towards Thrumshingla.

Department of Roads official said the rain and foggy weather are affecting the road clearing works. The block is expected to be cleared in two days.
