Legal actions to be taken against two education consultancy firms: PM

Of late, the issue about Bhutanese girls working in Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman being ill-treated was hotly discussed on social media as well as the mainstream media.

The two education consultancy firms have illegal sent them to work in the aforementioned countries.

On the matter, the Member of Parliament from Kengkhar Weringla Constituency in Monggar asked the Prime Minister on what government is doing to avoid such problems in future.  MP Rinzin Jamtsho questioned the Prime Minister during the question and answer hour session in the National Assembly yesterday.

Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay clarified that the consultancy firms have been asked to take full responsibility of bringing the girls back to the country.

“At the same time, we are going to let them bear expenses with regard to transportation, food and accommodation,” asserted the Prime Minister. “Upon reaching home, the license of the agencies will be cancelled and then case will be filed”.
