Bhutan thrashes China by 10 wickets

Bhutan recorded a massive 10 wickets victory over China at the ongoing ICC World Cricket League Division One Asia Qualifier in Thailand.

This is Bhutan’s first win after suffering defeat in the hands of Thailand and Qatar in earlier matches.

Jigme Singye

The Chinese batting line up was no match to Bhutan’s Captain Jigme Singye’s leg spinners. He notched up eight wickets in his 10 overs, conceding just 24 runs in the process.

Damber Gurung and Suprit Pradhan took one wicket each. In reply, Bhutan wasted no time to chase down the target of 57 runs. A quick fire 38 runs from Jigme Singye ensured Bhutan reached the target in 5.1 overs.

The player of the match rightly went to Jigme Singye.

The win is a much needed confidence booster for the Bhutanese men ahead of their match against Saudi Arabia, this Friday. The ongoing ICC World Cricket League Division One Asia Qualifier is the first step towards the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
