Trongsa court defers hearing of illegal land transaction case

Trongsa District Court has cancelled the preliminary hearing of the illegal land transaction case, in which 10 people are involved including the former Trongsa Dzongda, Lhab Dorji, today.

The hearing was instead deferred to be held next Thursday as some of the alleged individuals failed to show their presence at the court.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case with the court on February 15, this year after the Office of the Attorney General dismissed the case. The rationale behind the ACC’s act was that it felt there were some corrupt practices related to the case.

Former Dzongda Lhab Dorji and nine other individuals are charged for alleged abuse of power, official misconduct, forgery, and execution of documents by deception.
