Last batch relief teamThe last group, 28 remaining members, of the Medical relief team in Nepal arrived in the country today. The team was received at Paro Airport by the Cabinet Secretary, Health Secretary and Representative from the Gyalpoi Zimpon Office.

The first of the 78-member relief team left for Nepal on April 27 following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 25 that devastated Nepal.

The relief team, including 31 medical experts, treated close to 2,000 earthquake survivors.

Over 220 surgeries, including 80 major operations, were also performed. According to one of the members, the team also travelled, on foot, to neighboring villages to treat casualties. The situation in Trishuli, where the Bhutanese relief team was stationed, is believed to be medically taken care of.
