Special prayer ceremony for Fourth Druk Gyalpo

The Sungchoe was presided over by Dorji Lopey, along with the monks from Punthim Dratshang.

Following that, Anims from Sangchen Dorji Lhendup Annim Shedra at Wolakha offered Tenzhug Luyang as part of the ceremony.

The Secretary of Dratshang Lhentshog, Karma Penjore, said this religious ceremony was one of the special ceremonies organized to commemorate the 60th Birth Anniversary. “While in 2015 there are many celebrations planned all over the country but then this is very different and special, in the sense that it is more religious and spiritual,” he added.

People from the neighbouring villages attended the ceremony to offer their prayers, and were granted Audience and Tokha by His Majesty the King.

Various cultural programmes were also performed during the ceremony.

The Prime Minister, cabinet ministers and other senior government officials were also present at the ceremony.
