Bhutan made the biggest move by ranks, 46 places, in FIFA world ranking. From the earlier rank of 209, the lowest FIFA ranking, Bhutan now is positioned 163rd, above Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal in the SAARC region, among other countries.
Bhutan’s leap in the rank comes after its world cup qualifying victory against Sri Lanka. Bhutan won both its home and away games played in March this year.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published May 7, this year.
Meanwhile, Bhutan Football federation, Asian Football Confederation, Asian Football Development Project and One World Play Project collaboratively launched the Ultra-Durable soccer balls in Thimphu, today.
A total of five thousand two hundred Chevrolet-branded balls were delivered to Bhutan Football Federation and will be distributed to His Majesty’s Secretariat, Zhung Dratshang and Bhutan Olympic Committee.
The Ultra-durable ball does not need a pump and never deflates even when punctured multiple times making it ideal for play in all types of terrain and harsh environment.
It is support from the One World Play Project, Asian Football Development Project and Asian Football Confederation.
