A Programme to address the shortage of Medical Specialists

General Medical doctors can now undergo Postgraduate Residency Programme at the Post Graduate Medical Education Centre at the National Referral Hospital in Thimphu.

Health Minister Tandin Wangchuk launched the Postgraduate Residency Programme on Thursday.

The four year programme will offer specialization in the fields of Gynae-obstetrics, Paediatrics, Surgery, Ophthalmology and Anaesthesiology.

The programme aims to address shortage of Medical Specialists and strengthen health delivery.

The programme will be headed by the Programme Director of the Post Graduate Medical Education Centre, Doctor Phub Dorji.

The Faculty comprises of specialists from the National Referral Hospital.
