Locals running the Eco-lodges in Zhemgang say, they are seeing increasing number of visitors coming to the vacation sites.
The Eco-lodges in Zhemgang is not only said to be affordable, but also environment friendly.
The Eco-lodge in Pantang under Phangkhar Gewog has three thatched cottages for tourists and locals. And it costs not more than Nu. 600 per night for a cottage.
The guests can either prepare their own meals or get the service for a very minimal charge.

A four member group manages the Eco-lodge in Pantang. About forty people from the village were trained to start Eco-lodges.
There are five Eco-lodges in lower Kheng.
Eco-lodges in Zhemgang were initiated in 2010 by the Royal Manas National Park with financial assistance from World Wildlife Fund.
The community based eco-tourism aims to increase farmers’ off farm income and to maintain the balance between development and conservation.
