Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen inaugurated the Trongsa District Court, today. With the new court building, the district court now has a separate office outside the Dzong.
Earlier the court was located inside the Trongsa dzong. The new court has two benches and a large office space. The building also has detention rooms.
The Resident Coordinator of Austrian Development Cooperation and the Director of Swiss Development Cooperation also attended the inauguration ceremony. Among them were hundreds of locals including Drangpons and Dzongkhag officials.
The construction began in 2011. Nu. 37.074 MN was spent for the construction of the building with funds from the Swiss Development Cooperation and Austrian Development Cooperation.
