His Holiness the Je Khenpo conferred master’s degree certificates to His Holiness the Gyalse Trulku, Jigme Tenzin Wangpo, and Trulku Thukten Chhophel along with 60 other graduates. They graduated from Tango College of Buddhist studies.
Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, was the chief guest.
The certificates were awarded inside the Kuenrey of the Puna Dewai Chenpoi Phodrang in Punakha.
His Holiness the Gyalse Trulku, 21, is from Trashigang, Kanglung. After 17 years of studies from the College, he is now conferred the title of Gashey Do Ngang Mrawai Wangchuk or the Master in Buddhist Philosophy.
At the age of five, His Holiness was recognised as the 8th reincarnation of Gyalse Tenzin Rabgay.
His eminence started is monastic education at the age of five, under the guidance of Tsugla Lopen Rinpoche, Samten Dorji, of the Central Monastic Body and other Khenpos.
Trulku Thukten Chophel, 23, from Trongsa was recognised as the reincarnation of Tshangkha Rinpoche at the age of five. He studied in Mysore for two years before joining the Tango College of Buddhist Studies.
