His Majesty the King granted an audience to the senior teachers, principals, Dzongkhag Education Officers and officials from the education Ministry attending the 17th Annual Education Conference.
The seven-day conference, being held in Punakha, instituted as part of platform for decentralization process will focus on some of the pressing educational issues. It will also draw up appropriate strategic plans to tackle them on regular basis.
The conference is expected to come up with national implementation plan in line with education blueprint’s proposed transformation journey for next year.
The plans for 24 schools under the proposed school reform program will be finalized. There will be revision of existing education guidelines and instructions to ensure effective implementations.
The conference will also come up with recommendations to celebrate the 60th birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.
