Coinciding with the eighth day of the ninth month of the Bhutanese calendar, the Annual Tsechu for Chhukha dzongkhag began today. People gathered in the hundreds outside the dzong to witness the Tshechu. The first day of the festival saw the Gay Cham, shingjey phomo and the Dramitse nga Cham being performed. Cultural performances like dances were also staged.
