The Minister for Agriculture and Forests, Yeshey Dorji, inaugurated six Combine Harvesters in Paro, today. The harvesters worth about Nu.2 million each were funded by the Japanese Non-project Grant Aid to the Agriculture Machinery Centre.
The machines harvest crops and thresh them as well. This is expected to save time, money and manpower and reduce the impact of rain on crops during the harvest season.
The AMC will be hiring out the machines to all dzongkhags.
