Dechen Zangmo represents Bhutan at the One Young World Summit

DechenZangmo-One-Young-World-SummitDechen Zangmo, a third year undergraduate student, at the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh is Bhutan’s representative at the One Young World Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Summit founded in 2009 brings young people from around the world together, and aims to build relationships that will create positive change.

At least 900 youth delegates from 185 countries are attending the Summit. Some of the special speakers at the Summit include Nobel Laureate, Muhammad Yunus; the president and editor-in-chief of Huffington Post Media Group, Arianna Huffington; the Virgin Group founder, Richard Branson; and the UN’s Seventh Secretary General Kofi Annan. The Summit claims to be second only to the Olympic Games in bringing together countries.DechenZangmo-One-Young-World-Summit.

Dechen Zangmo was also Bhutan’s flag bearer at the Opening Ceremony of the One Young World Summit on October 2. The Summit ends today.
