Under the scholarships provided by the Department of Adult and Higher Education, 173 class-12 students are being sent overseas for their undergraduate studies, this year.
The students will pursue undergraduate studies in various fields in universities in India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Australia and the US. The fields of study include medicine, engineering, education and arts and humanities among others.
An orientation programme was held for these students at the Department of Youth and Sports yesterday and today.
