Magazine on Buddhism launched

Coinciding with the descending day of Lord Buddha, a 200-pages- magazine titled, Kuenphen Dutse Pelter, was launched at the Tango University of Buddhist studies today.

The book talks about different topics under Buddhism and is available both in Dzongkha and English versions.

The book is published by the students of masters degree studying in Tango University.

The second publication of the book was launched today by the education minister, Thakur Singh Powdyel, and the Gyelse Trulku Tenzin Rabgye.

During the launch, the Trulku said it is important to leave behind memories when students complete a university. “The book will serve as a memory for this batch of students.”

“We should look upon the seats of learning like Tango University of Buddhist studies for inspiration,” said the education minister. He also added that long before the advent of the modern education in the country there was already a profound spiritual traditions embedded in the country.

The book will be made available to all the institutions and schools and for those interested, free of cost.

The university aims to make it as annual magazines.
