Black Necked Cranes arrive in Phobjikha and Bumdeling

First three adult black necked cranes arrived in Phobjikha on Saturday. It was followed by five new arrivals on Sunday. Another 24 added to the number yesterday making it to 32 cranes in the Phobjikha valley.

Bumdeling in Trashiyangtse also saw the arrival of two cranes this afternoon. Officials say this time the cranes arrived at Bumdeling early by one month.

A trans-boundary migratory study found that the cranes return from their summer roosting ground in Tibet. It will stay in Bhutan for another five months and leave for Tibet by the end of March.
