
A fire that started from make-shift houses at the Lungtenphu Army Camp in Thimphu this afternoon has left several families homeless. The number of families affected in the Army Camp has yet to be ascertained.
However, at least six families at the Changjiji Housing Colony lost their homes after the fire spread towards the colony. According to the NHDCL, four families were relocated to empty houses in the colony while two chose to stay with their relatives.
The corporation has supplied rations and necessities to the affected families. The fire was contained in the evening. The cause of the fire is unknown.
