Dorji Lopen appoints new lams

The Dorji Lopen of the Zhung Dratshang has appointed Lams, Principal, Dhue-Tshog Drungchen and Jaling Lopen of Zhung Dratshang. The appointees were conferred dhar at the Punakha Dzong today.

Thirty-nine-year-old Jigme from Dangchu in Wangdue Phodrang is conferred Dhar as a new Lampoen. Lampoen literally means the coordinator of Zhung Soelthap. Prior to his present post, he served in Zhung Budrel. He joined the monk-hood at the age of 11 and completed the three-year retreat from Chizhi Goenpa in Thimphu.

45-year-old Phub Dorji from Nyishokha in Wangdue Phodrang is the new Lam of Chhimi Lhakhang in Punakha. He served as a personal secretary in Zhung Dratshang prior to his present post. He began monastic education from Dechenphodrang Monastic School and graduated from Tango Shedra in Thimphu. He completed the three-year retreat at Cheri Drupdey.

44-year-old Rigzin from Samar in Haa is the new Lam of Dechenphug Lhakhang in Thimphu. Prior to his present post, he served as a chairperson of Zhung Dratshang Store. He joined the monastic body at eleven and graduated from Nalendra Shedra in Punakha.

42-year-old Lam Kinley Wangdi from Naja in Paro will be taking care of Tsuendru Goenpa at Naja in Paro. He served as a Secretary of survey office in Zhung Dratshang. He joined the monk body at the age of eleven and graduated from the college of Astrology at Pangrizampa in Thimphu.

42-year-old Pema Gyeltshen is the new secretary or the Dhue-Tshog Drungchhen of the Central Monastic Body. Prior to his present post, he worked with the management of Institute Of Science of Mind at Semtokha in Thimphu. He graduated from Tango Shedra in Thimphu.

42-year-old Tenzin Wangchuk from Dogar in Paro is the new Principal of the Institute Of Science of Mind at Semtokha in Thimphu. He was a lecturer at the institute prior to the current appointment. He joined monk-hood at eleven and graduated from Tango Shedra in Thimphu.

40-year-old Dawa Gyeltshen from Athang in Wangdue Phodrang is the new Lam of Sampheling Lhakhang at Geling in Chhukha. He began his monastic education at 15 from Dechenphodrang Monastic School and graduated from Tango Shedra in Thimphu. He had also completed the three-year retreat from Cheri Drupdey in Thimphu.

32-year-old Kinga Tshering from Guma in Punakha is the Nangchhoe Khenpo of Bhutan Institute of Well-being under Youth Development Fund at Chhimithangkha of Maedwang Gewog in Thimphu.

He worked as a teacher at Dechencholing Higher Secondary School in Thimphu prior to the present post. He started his monastic education at the Dechenphodrang Monastic school at the age of 13 and graduated from Tango Shedra. He also completed the three-year retreat from Tango Drupkhang.

45-year-old Thinley from Nyishog in Wangdue Phodrang is the new Kangjup of Goenpoi Lhakhang at Tashichhodzong in Thimphu. He joined monkhood at the age of eight and studied at Sewla Shedra in Punakha. He had completed his three-year retreat at Cheri Drupdy. He was retreating at Tokchong above Cheri Drupdey in Thimphu prior to the current appointment.

37-year-old Shacha from Talo in Punakha is appointed as the Jaling Lopen of Zhung Dratshang. He was serving in Zhung Budrel prior to his present post. He joined the monk body at thirteen and studied at Lekshey Jungney Shedra in Punakha. He had also completed his three-year retreat from Cheri Drupdey in Thimphu.
