Fresh Bhutanese graduates who underwent crash course in teaching will be leaving for Thailand to teach English in technical training Institutes. Thailand has around 430 technical training institutes.

The labour minister, Dorji Wangdi, awarded certificates to the trainees today. From the 19 graduates who were given the training, 15 will be leaving for Thailand by the first week of October. These graduates will be teaching there for two years. They will be paid 18,000 Bhat a month and some other allowances.

In return, the Bhutanese government will receive technical instructors from Thailand who will be posted to various vocational institutes across the country.

This is the first time the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources is sending people from Bhutan to teach English to students outside the country.
