Phuentshogling gets additional hospital established at RIGSS

Phuentshogling gets an additional hospital. Upon the command of His Majesty the King, the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS) in Phuentshogling becomes a mother and child health care hospital beginning yesterday. Nearly a hundred women and children came for various services. It is a temporary measure amid the increasing COVID cases there.

Usually, only officials are seen in the building as the institute housed the Southern COVID-19 Task Force. But as the mother and child healthcare services are being provided from here, women and children are seen comfortably seated here.

As Phuentshogling records more COVID 19 infections, the hospital came in as a huge relief to the residents as well as the health professionals.

“It is risky to visit the hospital as many people are being infected with the virus. It is very convenient here. The ambience is very good too. The hospital here has enough resting space and we can maintain social distancing too,” said Kezang Dema.

“We have to be in a queue in the hospital. Here we do not have to do that. Moreover, there is enough space here to rest. One can watch television too. There are many good books for those who wish to read. We can also see many beautiful flowers around. The surrounding of the hospital itself is so magnificent here,” said Hemanta.

“We are very much indebted to His Majesty for gifting us this hospital here. The hospital is so clean and convenient for every one of us,” said Dawa Norbu.

Phuentshogling hospital also plans to start dental and eye services from here. This is the third area after the parking lot where medical services are provided from. It is going to make the lives of about 20,000 people living in Phuentshogling much easier to get health care services.
