The shortage of quarantine facilities in Samtse district is expected to be resolved now as the 200 bedded Quarantine Facility at Dhamdum is complete. It was inaugurated on Tuesday.
The quarantine facility is constructed upon Royal Command to address the shortage of quarantine facilities in the Dzongkhag for quarantining of routine travellers, primary contacts and foreign workers. Spread over an area of 5.16 acres, the facility has four blocks; each Block with 10 units comprising a Kitchen and Store, a Security Room, Health Screening Center, Immigration Counter and a waiting shed. The facility has standard amenities such as Wi-Fi, Cable Television, water supply round the clock and CCTV. It was constructed at a cost of Nu 10.15 M funded by RGoB with technical and manpower support from Private Companies and the Gyalsung Project.
