The National Council today agreed that the Local Government Entitlement Bill should be deliberated during the 10th session of the parliament as an Urgent Bill.
The Lhuentse MP, Rinzin Rinzin, had put up the proposal for the Bill to be discussed as an Urgent Bill, saying the Local Government (LG) members do not have a separate entitlement since they do not fall under civil service or parliament.

Other members also supported the proposal. Some of them said the LG members have a huge responsibility hence the requirement of a separate Entitlement Bill.
The house also endorsed the Contract Bill of Bhutan, Alternative Dispute Resolution Bill, and Bhutan Education City Bill.
