WHO donate medical kits

The Ministry of Health received 51 medical kits from the World Health Organisation today. The major trauma kits contain items that have the capacity to do minor onsite operations by trained medical officers.

The emergency medical kits contain various medical supplies which will not only improve the health sector capacity but also strengthen response during emergencies or disasters.

According to the head of the Anesthesiology Department, Gosar Pemba, the kits will be distributed to the hospitals across the country for use as and when disasters or emergencies occur.

Each kit contains a stretcher type blanket, an adjustable stiff collar neck, an injection kit and several medical supplies for burn, wounds and other injuries. One kit costs around Nu. 46,000. They were bought from Germany.
