What is the government doing to reduce the high data service charges in the country? This was the question put forward by the Member of Parliament from Kilkhorthang Mendrelgang during the question hour session of the National Assembly yesterday.
He also enquired if the government has any plans of allowing a third telecom service provider to operate. In response, the Minister for Information and Communications said works are underway to reduce the data service charges. With regard to the establishment of another private telecom service in the country, the Minister said the government needs to carry out research properly first which would take time.
