Tashi Wangdi had to settle for bronze as he lost the semi final match of the ongoing Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament in Bangkok, today.

With most of the Bhutanese boxers eliminated in the qualification round, all hopes were on the 23-year-old Tashi Wangdi who made it to the semi finals after defeating a Sri Lankan boxer, yesterday. However, he was eliminated by the Asian Confederation Boxing Championship’s silver medallist Deepak Singh in the men’s light flyweight category. With this, Bhutan finished their boxing campaign with only a bronze medal in their name.

Six Bhutanese boxers took part in the competition which will end tomorrow.
