Bhutan eliminated from recurve individual category competition

At the ongoing 18th South Asian Games in Jakarta, Sonam Dema lost in the round of 16 in the recurve archery in Women’s Individual to the host country Indonesia.

With this, all five archers in the individual recurve category are out of the competition.

The Mixed team and Men’s recurve team is competing today, while compound archery team will play their knockout rounds tomorrow.

The archery team is made up of eight members, two women and six men.

In taekwondo, all eight athletes have been eliminated as well.

Meanwhile, the lone golfer representing Bhutan at the games, Ugen Dorji began with his round one yesterday.

A total of 24 Bhutanese athletes are in Jakarta, Indonesia to represent the country at the games.

The Asian Games is a continental multi-sport event held every four years. Athletes from 44 other countries are taking part in this year’s game.

Bhutan has participated in the Asian Games since 1980.
