The Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party (BKP) has replaced its candidate from Bartsham-Shongphu constituency in Trashigang. 27-year-old Ugyen Lhendup will now contest in place of the former candidate Karma Wangzom.
The party says Karma Wangzom was replaced after she failed to acquire all the required documents.
Before joining the party, Ugyen Lhendup worked as a manager in a private company. He had also worked as a Survey Consultant with the Druk Holding and Investments (DHI).
He completed his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the Gaeddu College of Business Studies.
With the replacement, the party now has only six women candidates.
