Advisors of the Interim Government assigned portfolios

In accordance with Article 19 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan, His Majesty The King issued Royal Kasho appointing Chief Advisor and advisors for the 2nd Interim Government on August 9.

To carry out the functions enshrined in the Constitution, the Chief Advisor and advisors of the Interim Government were assigned portfolios yesterday.

The Chief Advisor, Chief Justice Dasho Tshering Wangchuk will look after Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs.

The President of the Centre for Bhutan Studies and GNH, Dasho Karma Ura has been assigned the portfolio of the finance ministry.

The Governor of the Royal Monetary Authority, Dasho Penjore is handed the portfolio of the agriculture ministry.

Dasho Ugen Chhewang, the Chairman of Druk Holding and Investments has been assigned the education ministry portfolio.

Dasho Chhewang Rinzin, Managing Director of Druk Green Power Corporation gets the portfolio of works and human settlement ministry.

Dasho Karma Tshiteem, the Chairperson of the Royal Civil Service Commission is responsible for the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The portfolio of health ministry goes to Kinley Yangzom, the Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission.

The Vice Chancellor of the Royal University of Bhutan, Nidup Dorji, has been given the portfolio of Ministry of Information and Communications.

The labour ministry portfolio was assigned to Bachu Phub Dorji, the Managing Director of Kuensel Corporation.

The Interim Government will assist and enable the Election Commission of Bhutan to hold free and fair elections. Further, it will fully commit to serving the Tsa-Wa-Sum during its tenure.

The Government shall be formed within ninety days from the date of submission of the National Assembly.
