NCHM technical team arrived at Lunana

A four-member technical team from the National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology who arrived at Lunana will reinstall and repair the sensor for Early Warning System that is reported to have been damaged. Chang Gup’s encroachment of government land, Thimphu district court passes judgement

Thimphu district court bench II sentenced the former Chang gup Kanjur to a concurrent judgement of two years in prison for illegal encroachment of government land, deception, forgery and official misconduct on June 14. Another person, the then land record officer Karma Jamtsho was also sentenced to a year in prison.

Land price at the highest in Thimphu

Within the past six months, the land price in Thimphu has doubled. The present land price in the core town area ranges between Nu 8 M to 10 M for a plot. The price in the outskirts like Olakha and Babesa is around Nu 1.2 M. This is attributed to the high demand and less supply of land due to more people interested to settle down in Thimphu.
