What comes to mind when you hear ‘India’? Best friend, says 17-year-old Samten Tenzin Drolma of Motithang Higher Secondary School. Citing how India has shown their support towards Bhutan during the pandemic, Samten answered what India means to her and won the first prize in a recent competition held by the Indian embassy.
This year India celebrates 75 years of independence. Celebrating the year, the Indian embassy has been conducting various events. One of the many events was making a short video answering “What India means to me?”.

I gave out the most current situation in which my best friend India helped me during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Samten Tenzin Drolma, a student from Motithang Higher Secondary School in Thimphu.
Neelam Phuyel from Changangkha Middle Secondary School and Karma Tenzin from Gedu College of Business Studies won the second and third prizes respectively.
