We will complete Pema Gatshel’s Dzong if elected: Jigmi Y.Thinley

DPT-Pema-GatshelThe Druk Phuensum Tshogpa’s President Jigmi Y. Thinley said if elected they would try to complete the construction of Pema Gatshel Dzong in the next four years. He said this while meeting with the people in Pema Gatshel yesterday. The construction of the dzong has already begun.

Speaking to the people of Khenadang and Nanong Gewogs, the DPT’s President Jigmi Y. Thinley said in the next four years, the Pema Gatshel Dzong would be ready with all the dzongkhag offices already functioning from the new Dzong.

“Project manager is working hard to complete the construction of the Dzong as soon as possible so that people here can proudly say that it is their Dzong…We are thinking to complete the construction in the next four years during the 11th Five Year Plan,” said  Jigmi Y Thinley.

Jigmi Y. Thinley also said the Pema Gatshel town will be developed into a vehicle free town.    

“Pema Gatshel town will be different from other towns because it will be vehicle free town. It will be clean with less noise and people visiting the town will love it. And unlike most of the towns, we will make sure that Denchi town doesn’t face shortage of drinking water.  We will be installing huge tanks which will be enough for everyone in the town”

He also promised to open a farm machinery centre at the Nanong Gewog. The centre will help the farmers to use farm machinery at a subsidised rate.
