Sep-Windstorm-Not-CompensatedSeptember’s windstorm has damaged maize field of about 115 households in Chimung Gewog under Pemagatshel. They are worried if they will have enough food to keep them going until the next harvest season.

The villagers say gewog administration and agriculture extension officials visited the gewog to see the extent of damage caused by the windstorm. “But we haven’t received any help as yet,” said one of the affected villagers, Pema Ngadon.

The gewog administration said they have compiled the report and submitted it to the Dzongkhag Agriculture office.

The District Agriculture Officer, Kiran Subedi, said they are working on solutions to compensate the affected families.
