For about three years now, villagers of Namgyel Taba in Tading Gewog, Samtse have been losing their Areca nut plants to an unknown disease, which is drying up the leaves.

The disease, which began affecting young plants, is now affecting fruiting trees as well.

This has worried all the households with Areca nut plantation in Namgyel Taba.
