UNICEF RD-PM. (Picture Story): The UNICEF Regional Director for South Asia, Karin Hulshof, paid a courtesy call on Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay this afternoon at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang.

Ms. Hulshof thanked Lyonchhen and conveyed that it gave her great satisfaction to see Bhutan progressing well on the fronts of education, health, women empowerment and sustainable development.

Lyonchhen expressed that her visit spoke volumes on how UNICEF has always been caring for Bhutan and rendering constructive assistance toward facilitating it’s socio-economic development.

They also discussed about the importance of nutritional food, sanitation, fighting poverty, and building a safe environment for women allowing them to educate themselves and pursue their lifelong dreams.
